NMR Tubes & Samples

Please clear all the NMR tubes from the instrument as well as any unclaim samples on the table.  For samples that left unclaim in TRACES will be discarded and the NMR tube will become the property of TRACES

Please pick up your samples by the end of TODAY

NMR Data Transfer & Dropbox

For NMR data transfer, it is important to always COPY & PASTE your data to your dropbox.

If you drag your data to your dropbox, it will remove it from the spectrometer.  Therefore, the computer will not able to BACKUP your data automatically.

Remember:   COPY & PASTE your NMR raw data to your dropbox

Nitrogen Filling & System Maintenance

The NMR system will be down from 9am to 12pm for the weekly schedule Nitrogen Fill and System Maintenance.

NMR Data Processing

The NMR data is processed using ACDLab (Free Download) software.  Here is a short instructional video of how to process your NMR data once you have acquired them.  (Click on the video to watch in the youtube channel and select HD quality for better resolution)

NMR Data Transfer & File Archive

You can use dropbox to transfer your NMR data from the spectrometer to your computer. In order to use dropbox, I will need your email address and your group so that I can authorize you. The computer is currently being set-up so that it will archive all the completed NMR experiments every 24 hours automatically and the archive file will appear in your dropbox.  It will be advantage for you to take this folder and store it on your computer or your lab computer for your record.

NMR TRAINING

Dear DPES Faculty

It is with great pleasure that I announced to you that the NMR spectrometer in TRACES is operational.  Due to the compressor issue, we were unable to offer this service sooner and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their understanding.  In order to use this instrument, you will need to be trained and the training will commence next week and it will be held on Monday and Tuesday.  The training on Monday will be geared towards the graduate students & postdoc and the training on Tuesday will be for the lecturers (including any interested Professors).  Attached to this email is a SOP, guidelines and NMR user agreement. Please forward this to your graduate students or appropriate personnel in your laboratory.

After our scheduled helium fill on Wednesday (May-16-2012), the instrument will be ready to use staring Thursday May 17th, 2012.

Training Time:
Please come during this time for your training.
Monday (11am - 3pm) (Graduate Student & Postdoc)
Tuesday (11am - 3pm)  (Faculty)
